形态描述
体长，侧扁，腹面自腹鳍基部至肛门具明显的腹棱。头小，吻尖。口上位，斜裂，下颌突出，颌侧缘呈微波状嵌衔。无须。眼较大，眼间稍隆。侧线鳞44-46，侧线下弯，至尾柄折回体中轴。背鳍短，无硬刺，起点在腹鳍起点之后；臀鳍发达，最长鳍条可伸达尾鳍基部；尾鳍分叉。体背灰褐色，腹部白色，体侧带棕红，具不规则垂直斑纹。头腹面红色，尾基具1黑圆斑
